Sponsors

Hey great practice tonight. I see so much potential in all of you. Thanks parents for getting them there. You are awesome too. I will have receipts for you next Thursday on what you have paid and what you have in your booster club account after the cookie dough sales. If you have paid the $21 for the uniform and socks, and $17.50 for the Neosho tournament you are paid up for a while. Thank you all for being on top of that. That makes my job as a coach so much easier. We still need sponsors. I am holding off one more week to get the t-shirts printed because I would like to find one or two more sponsors. So far we have sponsorship money from La-Z-Boy, Sims Rental, and Schnelle Sheet Metal. If everyone could pitch in to get more sponsors that would be wonderful. If they donate $100 we will put their names on the banner that will hang outside our dugout at all tournaments and games, if they donate $200 we will do the banner and put their logo on our t-shirts. Please help me out in this. A lot of your employers may sponsor all you have to do is ask. The more we get built up in our account the more we will be able to play. I will try to get a team picture soon to use on our banner and send to the Neosho Daily News so we can show Neosho the great things we are doing with our youth. Thank you again for being such an awesome group of girls and parents!

Your awsome!

Girls I am so proud of each and every one of you. I know it may have been frustrating being so unorganized, but I can promise you I have already learned several things I need to work on. from now on I will not rely solely on e-mails for communication. Dustin and I have talked about it and will split the list in half and make the phone calls on the important stuff like schedules! Again, I am sorry and I hope this does not leave a bad impression on how the rest of the season will go. I am an organized person, it's just that I take on too many things sometimes, and need to learn to ask for help. I am glad in the end we played in this tournament. I would love to see more softball come into Neosho. We have to step up and show the city there is an interest. I got a few pictures. I will try to snap a few when I can so we will have things to show this little town the big things we are doing. Let's all work together to do what we can to not let this sport die out here. 8 games was not enough for any of to learn a thing in city league and a lot have already quit playing ball completely in Neosho for that reason. Let's just let them know we want to play ball!Hopefully we can get surrounding area teams that would want to play next summer and have a more competitive league so we don't have to resort to playing in other cities. Just thank you all for your effort in getting your girls there to play today despite the chaos. Great parents like you make coaching so much less stress.
This Thursday, July 30th, we will practice on the girls field from 6-7 at Morse Park. We will need to turn in the cookie dough orders along with the money for it. I also need to collect uniform money from anyone that hasn't paid. They are $14 for the uniform, $7 for the socks, which makes the total $21. The socks have not been ordered yet. I will order them as soon as I receive the rest of the uniform money.
We were able to get another sponsor! Thank you to Sims Rental for the sponsorship. If you have the opportunity to give them a thank you in person, please do so. We need the support of our local businesses. When we have the team together for a picture we will send all of our sponsors pictures.
If anyone happened to get shorts that had the number printed on the wrong side and you would like it fixed I will talk to them Monday about it.
We are not planning anymore tournaments until the end of August. This could change if we came across something that was reasonable.
Thank you again for your dedication. I saw tons of hard work out there today. And thank you again parents!

update on fundraiser!

Hey girls, forgot to tell you that when you sell your cookie dough have them make checks to Jennifer McAffrey, because I will have to send one check when I order. Make sure you collect the moeny when you sell because we can't order if they haven't paid. Thanks!

Well we are ready to start. I have talked to everyone and got uniforms ordered. We decided to add another player so we have 11 now. It is a good idea to have 11 in case something comes up and someone can't be at a game. So, in no particular order this is our roster.
Jacey McAffrey
Allie Sims
Brooke Williams
Hailey Geller
Damita Sourjohn
Shelby Johnson
Jessica Sanders
Cassie Dickens
Hannah Irvin
Raegan Kibler
Kaitlyn Sage
Now that we have 11 our La-Z-Boy sponsorship got split 11 ways instead of 10 so that makes the cost of our uniforms $14.00. I also found socks to match them for $10.00. If anyone can help us out by asking more businesses to sponsor it will just keep cutting the cost down more.
The decision has been made to play in the league one night a week then pick up one tournament a month. All will be played at Four Seasons. I still haven't gotten an answer from the rec center in Neosho about their tournament coming up next weekend if they are going to have any 14 U teams. I think most of you have said you don't care either way if we play in it. I just thought it would be nice for your friends and family that wouldn't be able to come to Joplin games to watch you. I will let you know more on that Monday evening.
Practice- this week we will practice Thursday night from 6-7:30. at Morse Park on the girls field. Please let me know ASAP if this doesn't work for anyone. We want to be able to practice together as a team before we play. Brooke will be on vacation at this time, but we will have practice time as a complete team when she gets back.
Call or e-mail if you have any concerns! Thanks

Neosho Tournament

Is anyone interested in playing in the Neosho tournament? It is next weekend. July 23-25th. We would have to pay about $22 per player. If the majority wants to we will do it. Leave me a comment and let me know.

First meeting

Hey! Thank you to those of you that were able to make it out to the meeting tonight. I am so excited! I am ordering uniforms tomorrow. He made it sound like we would have them soon. Maybe the end of next week. I forgot to get an answer from you parents about playing for free in the Summer games they don't have a team to fill the spot. I think it's an awsome opportunity, and would be a great learning experience, AND we wouldn't have to pay a dime. Leave a comment and let me know if you would be ready to do that within the next week or so. They have already called me once last week and asked if we wanted to play. I said, "uhh...we still have a few girls on vacation." If you girls want a t-shirt to wear to school or whatever let me know. They are $7.00. They will say Fast Pitch on the back. Thank you parents for supporting your girls and giving them this opportunity.

Our first meeting will be on Thursday July 16th at 8 p.m. at the girls softball field. I will have schedules, uniform and entry fee inormation, and fund raiser packets to hand out. I can't wait to get started!

Welcome!

I am so excited to get this team rolling. I absolutely love coaching. I started out coaching soccer a few seasons but softball is where my heart is. I played from ages 6-18, and play adult co-ed now. I put together a great group of girls that exihibit passion for the game.
All I ak of my players is to conduct yourselves with homor, dignity, humility, and graciousness. Be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat. I will post schedules on here and any other news you may need. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your coach. Jennifer
